EWS Education Web Solutions.

“I made a game with multiple sea creatures…I used the editor to create a background and draw hearts for lives and also triangles for up and down arrows which are used to control the fish. I also used a variety of coding blocks which I tested and debugged until I had it the way I wanted. I asked my friend to play it to test it. He enjoyed it! “

WOODVILLE GARDENS SCHOOL
&
CRAIGBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Woodville Gardens Primary School and Craigburn Primary School
have each won a prize pack from Vex Robotics!

CRAIGBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL SCHOOL

“Systems challenge! Round 1 we found our facedown popstick and couldn’t help anyone. We took over a minute. Round 2 we helped each other and we were faster! Helping each other was the best system.

WOODVILLE GARDENS SCHOOL

“My favourite part of this challenge was doing the work in scratch and learning how to make a rock, paper, scissors game with the micro:bit. We made a graphic user interface like they have at Mcdonalds and a chasey game in scratch…I liked learning how to use code. It was lots of fun.”

Third Place Prize Winners

CONGRATULATIONS TO the following
prize winning schools
!

Coomandook Area School, Truro Primary School, Lucindale Area School, Marree Aboriginal School, Murray Bridge North Primary School and The Pines School have each won an exclusive prize pack donated by GROK Academy.

COOMANDOOK AREA SCHOOL

Did you know that systems are everywhere? Systems are even on my farm where my dad grows things like sheep, cows, barley and wheat.”

TRURO PRIMARY SCHOOL

“We have been learning about robots this year. I learnt how to code and use a micro-bit. It said my name. I enjoyed working with some of the year 4’s too.”

LUCINDALE AREA SCHOOL

“When we did the Speak Out, it show how there are systems all around us and we loved using the sprites and making our own, using our imagination, and my friends and I liked coding basketballs.”

MARREE ABORIGINAL SCHOOL

“We have learnt to write Algorithms, which are step-by-step instructions for the program to use. Squashing bugs is when we find mistakes. I made a good maze game for the player to get to the end and not get caught by the bats.”

MURRAY BRIDGE NORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL

“I really liked the Minecraft coding as you can experience how to make houses. It made me feel happy and pumped up. I liked the Dance Party coding as it made me feel like I was in the room.”

MID NORTH CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

“The Commissioner’s Digital Challenge helped me with lots of stuff such as maths, creativity, writing and other things. It was a great way to learn what coding was about. I loved the Commissioner’s Digital Challenge because it was a great inspiration for a future job opportunity.”
