Acting Commissioner's Message
The Commissioner's Digital Challenge is now in its eighth year.
Commenced in 2019 by the inaugural Commissioner Helen Connolly it has proven extremely popular with students and educators throughout South Australia and beyond with many national and international participants also engaging with one or all three of the Digital Challenges devised to provide students with the digital literacy skills they need.
Our future requires bold thinkers who know how to create intelligent out-of-the-box solutions and understanding computational, design and systems thinking digital skills is key to this.
If you're a young person who is undertaking the Commissioner's Digital Challenge for the first time - welcome to this website. You can do one, two or all three Challenges to gain skills that will go toward your digital literacy, so that you can be confident you have what it takes to be a digital citizen in this technologically driven world in which we all live. You'll also find extended material to expand and test your skills once you've mastered these challenges.
If you're an educator, register now to get the Challenge happening at your school.
If you're a community group leader, run the Challenge in your group. Scouts and Guides can earn cloth badges. If you're a member of the Children's University Adelaide you can gain accreditation in your Passport to Learning.
If you're a librarian, register your library and run the Challenge after school or as part of your Library's School Holidays Program. Promote the Challenge using the free posters and graphic assets that are supplied.
If you're a Home School, run the Challenge in small groups of 10, or as individuals with members of your Family at Home.
If you're a school or student from interstate or overseas, you are welcome to complete the Challenge too! You'll earn a Certificate of Achievement just like every South Australian student who completes it.
Let's work together to encourage as many children and young people as possible to take a journey towards digital empowerment!
